A gallery is a fun way to explore the works of different artists, buying a piece from them supports them in their work and gives you an interesting, one-off piece of art to hang in your home. Exhibits are often held in art galleries, museums and at universities so check online and see if there’s anything local to you. Create something yourself
You don’t have to be an artist or a graphic designer to create something beautiful. Just have a go, see what you can come up with. Look at beginners art tutorials on Youtube and look online for inspiration. Have a play with watercolours, Photoshop, charcoal pencils or any medium you like. Alternatively, you could hang a photo that you’ve taken that you’re proud of. It doesn’t have to be a portrait or family picture if you don’t want it to be, it could be an incredible spiders web covered in frost that you snapped on the way to work, a beautiful colourful leaf you took a picture of in the autumn or even something that’s a little abstract.
